Why People Buy Things: Secrets of Search Engine Marketing

Posted on September 22nd, 2007 in Advice, Customers, General, Simple, Strategies | No Comments »

There are very clear reasons why people buy things. It isn’t about technology or even the search engines.

Think about it. You don’t because of Google. Instead, people find stuff to buy online through Google. In other words, search engines help you find what you want but the search engines aren’t telling you how to buy, or really even what to buy.

People are looking to buy things and the search engines just help. The only thing they sell is advertising. They aren’t selling products.

So, that is your first secret to understand. People are looking for stuff to buy and search engines are just there to help along the way. To really understand why people buy things, you need to dig deeper…

You obviously need to care about keywords and context. Search engine marketing isn’t about figuring out technology. It’s about figuring out people. It’s about understanding their wants and desires. It’s about psychology, not technology and search engines.

Here are someconcrete reasons why people buy things. These are the real secrets to search engine marketing:

1. People want to get rich. They want money. They are trying to do it fast, and easy.

2. People don’t want to lose money. They want to hoard what they have for security.

3. People want more time. They are generally lazy and want to enjoy life, not work.

4. People want to feel sexy and beautiful. Easy health, long life.

5. People are curious. They like to experiment and explore.

6. People want to be loved. They want respect and admiration.

7. People want power over other people. They want to be popular too.

So, people buy things for very human reasons. If you can understand what drives and motivates people, you can generate wealth. And, search engine marketing takes on a new meaning. It isn’t about beating Google, it’s about delivering value to real people through Google.

How to Re-Write a PLR Article in Under 7 Minutes

Posted on September 20th, 2007 in Advice, PLR Club, Reports, Simple, Strategies | No Comments »

The value of private label rights (PLR) is that the hard research has been done for you. Most people think that the value is that the writing has been done for you, but that’s not the value of PLR at all.

Writing isn’t that bad. It is easy to speed write. If you give me an outline with the relevant keywords, a title, and some of the key concepts, I can write an article in just a few minutes. It isn’t hard pounding out an article.

So, again, the value of PLR is that someone else has already figured out what to write about and they’ve given you the map. It’s the research behind the article that takes all the time and energy, right?

That tip above is worth $100 — easy. Most people seek out PLR for the words, not the research. Now you know how to find the very best PLR because it isn’t the writing that matters, it’s all the work behind the words:

* Keywords and key phrases
* Title options and ideas
* Genral outlines
* Core concepts

Now you just need to pound out your own words and you can do that easily. Well, you can do that easily if you have a simple formula — The formula we use.

Now, assuming you have a ton of PLR content (if you don’t you can grab some here), it’s time to take action. What that means is that you’re ready to re-write PLR.

Some people will tell you that re-writing PLR doesn’t make sense, or that it’s hard to do. Hogwash! You can re-write PLR and you should re-write PLR. Remember, the hard work is the research which is already done for you.

I’ll summarize. PLR articles are valuable. The hard work is done for you. But, to really turn PLR into cash, you’ve got to re-write. It isn’t that hard if you know the simple formula. Here’s what you need:

How a Miserable 0.15% Response Rate Can Still Put $50 in Your Pocket Today

Posted on September 15th, 2007 in Advice, Customers, Simple, Simple Cash Blog, Strategies | No Comments »

How many times have you heard that if you get a 1% response rate you’re doing great? I literally see or hear this 2-3 times per day. When people talk about 2-3% response rates, they are very excited. And, they should be.

But, let’s take a step back for a moment. It is critical that you clearly understand what “1% response” rate really means. Please pay attention, especially if you’re buying advertising.

When I use the term response rate, I mean something very specific. It is an idea that gained a lot of traction in the early days of direct mail marketing. It’s a way of quantifying the success (or failure) of a direct mail campaign. However, there are some important nuances to consider. Response rate was meant to be one dimensional: send out postal mail and measure the response to that mail. Often, the physical mail included a questionnaire, so people were literally responding.

So, when internet marketers talk about response rate, most of them are myopic and short sited. They make the same assumptions that the direct mail marketers often made. Although I will say that some savvy direct mail marketers looked at response rate along many dimensions, which is what I’ll explain here.

In the realm of internet marketing, we absolutely must look at many dimensions to get to the core truth of response rates.

The best way to understand response rates in our current world is with an example. This should open your eyes. I’m going to show you just how hard it is to get up to a 1% response rate, the way that most people talk about it nowadays.

What Are You Doing with Article PLR and eBook PLR?

Posted on September 14th, 2007 in Advice, Customers, PLR Club, Reports, Simple | No Comments »

Most readers of know something about private label rights, also known as PLR. But, although many people understand the basic concept of PLR they don’t actually know how to exploit PLR.

Where’s the cash?

Let’s take an example. It is quite possible that you’re already a member of the Simple PLR Club. If you are, you know that The Rhodes Brothers offer up 3 private label rights reports with sales pages every single month. To get the most value out of these products you need to inject something special. You need to update the reports, and perhaps the sales pages.

Most people don’t make updates. In fact, most people don’t bother to take action with any of their PLR, let alone the (high quality) Simple PLR Club content.

It’s a shame. It really is.

Why don’t people exploit their PLR articles and PLR ebooks? The answer is really very simple. This answer is based directly on feedback from our customers as well as what we’ve seen on internet marketing blogs and forums.

Before I hand over the answer, visualize what you would do with a ton of fresh hot content. If you had a pile of 30 brand new articles right now, what would you do? Here are some things that our customers told us…

* Update their blogs
* Fill up their autoresponders
* Submit the articles for backlinks and traffic
* Sell the articles to their customers as PLR
* Create free ebooks to give away to build lists

The list goes on and on. Fresh content makes the world go around and around. If you don’t have fresh content, you’re dead meat.

OK, back to the story…

Most internet marketers do not update the PLR articles and PLR ebooks because they think it is hard to re-write PLR. They know that if they don’t re-write, they will suffer:

1. If they try to submit PLR articles to EzineArticles, they are taking a big risk. EzineArticles will ban you if you try to “game” their system. Bad idea if article marketing is part of your marketing.

2. Google will crush you. First, they might kick your site out of their index. It does happen, make no mistake. Google is watching to see if you’re trying to use tired, old PLR articles and PLR ebooks on your site. They will banish you to the supplemental results, or worse.

The ONLY answer is to re-write your PLR. If you’re moaning and complaining about the work, I don’t blame you at all…

If you don’t know what you’re doing, re-writing is a major pain in the butt. But, there are some things to consider. First, if you have PLR articles and reports, you have a goldmine. Here’s the true value of PLR:

* The research has been done for you!

The PLR content needs to be re-written — true enough — but you can concentrate on re-writing versus research. It’s the research that will kill you. Research is the blackhole that you want to avoid.

OK, so what next? That’s simple. We spoke with some of our smartest customers. They demanded to know how *we* exploit PLR articles and PLR ebooks. To answer this demand, we created an indispensible guide to re-writing PLR articles.

The real beauty of the report is that we’ve been using this method for a long time — years in fact. It’s all you need for the job. In fact, we’ve turned it into a science for you. Step-by-step, for anyone.
