5 Reasons Why Focus Drives Profit

Posted on August 10th, 2008 in 10x, News, Strategies | No Comments »

Not long ago, I announced the launch of the 10x Method. The punch line is that to be successful you need to focus.

The problem with saying “You must focus!” is that I don’t qualify it at all. In other words, I don’t fully dig into why focusing drives profits. I kind of just say “Focus!” and expect you to believe that it works miracles.

I don’t like to make claims without proof or some sort of evidence. I like to back up what I say. So, in this blog entry I’m going to give you five good reasons to focus.

Before I do that, it’s important to absorb the core idea behind the 10x Method, so don’t miss that video. It’s also important for you to know that when I say “Focus!” I’m also talking about specialization. You can definitely hop from one great new idea to the next, but once you strike gold you need to focus. That focus is specialization.

Note: Dennis Becker’s success comes almost entire from focus and specialization (See: Earn $5 Per Day). Yes, I’m an affiliate but that’s because Dennis is a great guy with a great product.

The 5 Reasons Why Focus Drives Profits

1. You have superior knowledge of customer’s needs. Therefore, you’ll have an easier time creating targeted products. Pricing will be much easier to figure out too. When you have great products at the right price, your profits will go up. Focusing and specialization give you this ability.

2. Focusing also allows you to build a reputation in a segment or field. Gurus are know for 1-2 products, usually. They are great at product launches, or traffic, or Adwords, or something else. It’s usually the case that the “winner takes it all” in these segements. At a minimum, disproportionate profits are delivered to just a few people.

3. When you specialize and stay narrow, it’s much easier to re-use and leverage existing customer lists, business assets, and related assets. Also, it’s far easier to refurbish an old product than it is to create a new one. It’s faster, easier, so you pull more profit. Beautiful, right?

4. Quality should be higher because you more directly meets customer needs. You’re likewise a known quantity for getting people to buy is so much easier. (Think about how much easier it is to sell to people on a buyer’s list. They know you; they trust you.) Furthermore, there’s reduced cycle time because of familiarity with the customers and the niche market. Focus gives you efficiency and speed, and speed means profit.

5. It’s easier to sell add-ons if you continue to focus. Real world example: If you have a savings account at one bank, it’s easier for the bank to sell you on a checking account. You have same advantage. If you have a buyer’s list you can make money faster. Furthermore, by focusing, you have the ability to sell adds-ons because you actually have those products to sell. If you keep creating Adwords products to sell, for example, you can more easily upsell and downsell.

These five reasons drive windfall profits online. Yes, you can float around from one idea to the next. However, you will eventually find something that works and you’ll get serious. You will make *some* money one way or another. Many business models work.

Once you see cash, then unleash the true power of the 10x Method. That’s when you focus, focus, focus.

Don’t miss the free 10x Method video if you missed it before. It’s exactly what you need if you can’t focus and make money online.

Cheers,

Unleashing the True Power of the $7 Script

Posted on August 8th, 2008 in 10x, Advice, Affiliate Program, Customers, Simple, Strategies | No Comments »

Want to unleash the power of the $7 script?

Better still…

Do you want to make 100% commission on a $47 sale? (If you’re on the 10x Method list you know how this is done.) If you’re a serious affiliate marketer then keep reading. If you’re not, you still might be interested in this internet marketing breakthrough. We use the script to help our affiliate and we build our list and we help customers. Win-win-win.

It has to do with the $7 script…but not in the way you normally think about it. Normally, when you use the $7 script, you setup a one-page site with your product for sale and offer up 100% commissions. Then, after folks purchase, they’re added to your lists.

The problem with this is that if your product flops, then you don’t get any signups. It ends up being a huge waste of time. And, you also need a ton of affiliates to promote your product to get a worthwhile number of subscribers. Blah.

So, how about a way to use the $7 script to not only get more subscribers, but more affiliates to promote your product as well?

(Note: You can do this even when you aren’t using the $7 script. But, the $7 script will probably get you more affiliates in the long run. You’ll see why.)

The $7 script helps build your list. But, why wait to collect emails until after the sale? Why not collect e-mail addresses BEFORE they buy? All it requires is a simple pre-sales video and a report. Or, 2 reports.

Here’s how it works, step-by-step:

1.) You send traffic to your main page, a pre-sales video with great, free content (e.g., 10x Method). You have an opt-in page to a free report which elaborates on the method, product, technique or service you’re selling. Or, a second free video works well, as well.

2.) You then send them to a thank you page after they confirm their e-mail address that tells them their free report is available and then sells them on a product you’re offering 100% commissions for.

OR

You send them to a 2nd video right away and then redirect to a sales page after the video for the 100% commissions product.

So, this way, you collect the e-mail address BEFORE the person even sees the offer.

Now, I know what you’re asking…

“Wouldn’t this turn off potential affiliates because less people are seeing the offer right away?”

It might, until you explain to them that you have much HIGHER conversions for the back-end product. That’s no lie – I will almost GUARANTEE you have higher conversions for the product you’re selling. We literally have 3% conversions for a $47 product we’re selling at 100% commissions.

(Pre-sales videos and content are extremely powerful. Don’t just throw up a sales page and expect magic to happen. It won’t.)

This leads us to a 2nd secret…

Use the $7 script to sell a 100% commission offer for $27, $47 or even much more. Imagine how many affiliates you’ll get, even if you aren’t a Guru.

You can do this in ANY niche, by the way. Don’t limit yourself to internet marketing. Turn off the blinders and see the real potential here. In markets where people are offering 5%-10% commissions, you’ll be offering 100% commissions. You’ll see some real affiliates, I’ll tell you that.

Your Professional Skills

Posted on August 3rd, 2008 in 10x, Advice, Simple, Strategies | No Comments »

This is just a quick reminder to keep track of your special skills and aptitudes. Take inventory, so that you can leverage your assets for greater success and happiness.

For example, rather than just keeping track of your work experience and education, consider all that you have to offer. Here are some of my own examples:

  • Ability to do keyword research
  • Knowledge of basic psychology principles
  • Success in building several small businesses
  • Awareness and application of advanced marketing principles
  • Ability to focus on projects to drive profit and market share
  • Deep understanding of most web 2.0 technologies

This list could be much longer. My point is that you should step back from time to time to take a look at your professional skills. When people ask what you do, you’ll have answers ready to go.

A side benefit of making this kind of list is that you’ll have different answers for many contexts. You can actually generate multiple elevator speeches because you can piece together the right material for the right person at the right time.
