Online Marketing Education – It’s Smart To Invest

Posted on January 26th, 2010 in Advice, EzineArticles, Links, Strategies, Web Traffic | No Comments »

You want to know why an education in online marketing is so smart?
It’s because you’re not spending money. You’re investing it.

I want to make sure that this is 100% clear because so many people get
it wrong…

If I spend $100 to take my wife out to a nice dinner I will never get
that money back. Ever. It’s spent. It’s completely gone and I’ll never
get it back no matter what I do.

Now, if I spend $100 to buy 40 articles (300-350 words each) for $2.50
each, then I am making an investment. Actually, the real investment
happens when I take the next action. This is crucial.

I must use the articles. I must use them for article marketing. I must
sell the articles to other people for a premium. Maybe I act as a
middle man. Maybe I sell the articles as PLR packages. No matter. I
just need to make sure that I monetize that investment.

This is the essence of business.

But, let’s return to your education. If you use money to get smarter,
that is an investment because it’s pure leverage. You can use that
knowledge again and again to make more money. It makes you faster and
stronger. Instead of using some lame technique to drive traffic, you
use a faster and easier technique. And, you do this again and again.

The returns are huge when you invest like this.

So, if you ever have the opportunity to invest in your education at a
fair price for high value, do it and don’t look back. Using money to
fund your education is an investment that will pay you dividends for
the rest of your life.

How to Start Making Money Online

Posted on May 16th, 2009 in Adsense, Affiliate Program, Clickbank, Free Business Model, Links, RSS, Really Simple Method, Strategies, Traffic Drill, Twitter, Web Traffic | 1 Comment »

ArticlesPeople are always asking us how to start making money online. The answer surprises most people: pick anything and take action.

I created an 18 minute audio to help you get started today. I talk about how to get started, what to promote and how to get traffic. It’s the perfect overview and I highly recommend you listen to it.

What to know what I talk about? Here’s the simple formula…

You start by doing some niche research, looking at trends, following smart people or just taking a complete guess.

Next, you need to decide what you’re going to sell or promote. You can be an affiliate marketer, you can sell your own products or you can start your own membership. Almost anything will work.

And lastly, you need to drive traffic using pay per click (PPC), writing blog entries, and writing articles. There’s a lot more you can do as well.

This formula is so simple but … IT WORKS. Of course, there is more to learn. There is a “secret” in the audio I created. When you hear me say it — and clearly explain it — you’ll see why the process I’ve outlined above is so powerful.

I’m not trying to scare you but you will FAIL if you don’t take my advice. You can pick the perfect niche, create the perfect product to sell or promote, and drive tons of traffic — but still fail. It’s important you listen to the audio succeed: How to Start Making Money Online (FREE).

By the way, if you like that audio, then you will love this stuff…

And, if you’re looking for other fantastic (very popular) blog entries, read these…

Cheers,

~ John

How To Generate Traffic With Articles

Posted on May 14th, 2009 in Links, Web Traffic | 3 Comments »

ArticlesI consistently find that I get the most traffic from blog postings that are not keyword optimized. Instead, I generate traffic with articles that are human optimized.

The greatest traffic flows into my niche blogs when I just pound the keys and tell a story. If you give me a minute, I’ll explain what I’m talking about in detail.

In the internet marketing niche, I often try to dominate certain keywords. It’s worked well. But, when I work hard to optimize blog entries in “boring” niches, the opposite seems to be true. It’s better to write stories and pretty much ignore the keywords, except for 1-2 things I always do.

First, I always make sure my keyword is in the title. It doesn’t matter if I’m writing something for internet marketers or if it’s some “dull” niche. No matter how you slice it, the title is important. You really want to use your keyword there no matter what.

Second, I usually use the main keyword or a similar keyword in the first 2-3 sentences. I don’t stress over this. I just try to fit the keyword in the first 100 words or so, which is usually in one of those first few sentences.

That’s pretty much it. I know it doesn’t sound very sexy. And, it doesn’t seem secret.

I think this works in my “simple” niches because Google has figured out that my content is legitimate and sincere. The less I try to get Google to pay attention, the better off I am. Or, to swing that around, the more I focus on my readers and my customers, the more Google rewards me for helping them. If you think about it, that’s a mighty good theory.

For what it’s worth, I ask my writers to write naturally. I often ask them to write stories and to be human. I am against any keyword stuffing and even when I target specific keywords, I avoid trying to game the system or beat Google. If you focus on your customers and your readers, they will reward you — and so will Google, apparently.

This is good news because it is easier to write this way. You know what I mean. It’s more natural to write to someone in a human voice than it is to write with the intention of plugging in certain keywords. It’s faster. It’s easier. And, again, it works better for everyone.

This is why I usually laugh at keyword density. I admit that I look at that metric from time to time but it doesn’t have nearly the importance as raw traffic pouring in from Google. I watch that closer and I’ve found that my pure and natural content pulls the most traffic. It’s almost like this — the less I think about what I’m writing, the more traffic I pull.

I will say this. One “secret” is that longer content works better when I write like this. When I write longer stories and create longer blog entries, everyone is happier. I think that’s because people link to me which Google loves, of course. Backlinks rock. Writing good material is just so smart — you create linkbait and you’re rewarded in so many ways. (Example of linkbait: How to Generate Web Site Traffic.)

So, that’s my article marketing advice for the day. It’s what I’ve done to dominate many niches — I pull insane traffic using this method alone, without PPC or anything else. I love it.

Strategic Internet Marketing

Posted on April 23rd, 2009 in Affiliate Program, Clickbank, Free Business Model, Links, Simple, Simple Cash Blog, Strategies, Videos, Web Traffic, listbuilding | 1 Comment »

John and I hosted our first public teleseminar last night about how to get traffic to membership sites and how to make money online. One of the big things we talked about was strategic internet marketing – having a STRATEGY in place for your websites.

When trying to create traffic to their websites, a lot of people fail to look at the bigger picture. You can keep each piece of your traffic system simple, but when they combine, you have an EXTREMELY deadly force.

Let me show you a traffic strategy we have in place for one of our websites. It should give you some context what we’re talking about when we say “strategic internet marketing”…

We have FreeBusinessModel.com, which is a reverse squeeze page. We deliver a high quality video on the front-end which “hooks” in our visitors and convinces them to enter their name and e-mail address to watch a second video.

After they watch our second video, they are redirected to SimpleCashBlog.com, our $27 per month membership that gives away a wealth of business models. So, we immediately have the potential to make money from the traffic that we drive to FreeBusinessModel.com.

That means we can spend more money investing in driving traffic to that funnel. So, we hire out people to write articles and create videos for us, linking to FreeBusinessModel.com, and also advertise that site.

Cool, right?

Well, that’s not even the half of it. Here’s where it gets really good…

After someone opts in to our lists from watching the free video on FreeBusinessModel.com, we then send messages to them promoting not only Simple Cash Blog, BUT…

The ability to promote FreeBusinessModel.com and make money online from it. If you’re not following, we have an affiliate program built in to FreeBusinessModel.com, which means everytime that someone sends traffic to that site with an affiliate link that they create, they make a monthly commission from Simple Cash Blog (70% of the sale, to be exact.)

So, the more people that watch the videos at FreeBusinessModel.com and opt-in, the more traffic we get going to that site.

Are you following? — IT GROWS ITSELF!

Now *that* is strategic internet marketing. It’s not complicated to setup, it’s a bunch of extremely basic “building blocks” combined together to make one seriously kick-ass system.

That system will continue to churn money for us for years. We won’t be able to stop it even if we wanted to.

So, do you “do” strategic internet marketing like us? All it takes is a good idea and a few minutes of combining a few simple systems and you could have all of the traffic and cash flowing in that you can handle.

Check out FreeBusinessModel.com and see how our system works for yourself…
