Make Extra Money Online

Posted on May 4th, 2009 in Advice, Clickbank, Really Simple Method, Web Traffic | 4 Comments »

My brother wrote a very clear step-by-step guide about how to make money online. When I first saw it, I thought it was awesome. However, I’m thinking that it needs some love.

My brother’s step-by-step plan to make money is powerful but it’s scary because it is long. I want to remove any fear, right here and right now.

If you want to make extra money online you do not need to build an entire empire. You do not need a big system, you do not need special software and you don’t even need seed money. In fact, you should start small. Start by making some extra cash online.

I’m going to show you how simple his plan really is…

1. Pick a topic.
2. Set up a blog.
3. Post great content.
4. Set up backlinks.
5. Get traffic, make money.

That’s really all there is to it. It’s very straightforward. What matters is that you execute each step with effort and passion.

You also need to have a clear vision. Don’t just try to make extra money online. Instead, plan to make money and pay off your credit card debt. Or, invest the extra cash in a small business, or grow your little online business into a bigger business. They key is that you have a plan for the money.

Let’s look at each piece of the plan quickly. Again, I want to keep this simple.

1. Pick a topic. You just need some place to start. Most people get stuck right at this step. They simply don’t take action. They just keep reading and thinking. Stop researching and start taking action right now.

2. Set up a blog. This is very, very simple. Don’t let the technology scare you. Simply head over to Blogger or WordPress and set up your blog for free. It’s very, very easy. If you get stuck, experiment a little. Or, do some research and fix the problem. You CAN do it. Millions of people have done this so you’re not alone.

3. Post great content. Some folks will pick a topic and set up a blog, but they will never post ANY content to it. This is silly. You’re so close to success at this point. You just need to start posting content to build up your blog. That valuable content will attract attention and links. That means traffic to your web site. Making extra money isn’t far off.

4. Set up backlinks. You can build backlinks in a million ways. Personally, I think investing a few bucks in Easy Backlink Builder is the way to go. If you’re not ready to invest any money you can simply find blogs in your niche and start posting great content, with a link back to your site. Or, you can post in forums in your niche. This is easy, fast, and fun. It grows your business too.

5. Get traffic, make money. The traffic will start to flow. If you do the work, people will start to find you. It does happen. You’ll want to slap some Adsense on your site or visit Clickbank and get some affiliate links on your blog. There are better ways to make money online but this will get your started.

Two more tips…

First, be sure that you install some sort of web traffic analysis tool such as Google Analytics. You want to measure and test what you’re doing. The only way is with data.

Second, be sure to grow and evolve. You will make mistakes and you will get down from time to time. But, if you stick to it, you’ll start making money. Before long you can make a lot of money online just following the simple tips above.

If you’re looking for more great advice like this you might want to take a look at the Really Simple Method. I promise to give you something more advanced than what I’ve explained above. It’ll move you to the next level.

~ John

Finding A Ghostwriter That Fits

Posted on January 23rd, 2009 in Advice, Customers, EzineArticles, PLR, Really Simple Method, Reports, Strategies | No Comments »

Guest Article By Cori Padgett

Finding a ghostwriter can be tough sometimes, especially if you have never hired one before and have no idea what to look for. You’ll probably get a ton of well meaning advice on places to look, and what you should pay for one, what’s too much, what’s not enough, and the list goes on!

A lot of people when first starting to outsource work have a fear of the unknown, and it stops them from taking a leap. But outsourcing can be so critical to your success and peace of mind once your business really starts to take off. Especially if you aren’t much of a writer yourself, or simply don’t like to write, outsourcing to a ghostwriter can be a huge weight off of your shoulders.

So How To Find A Quality Ghostwriter?

When asking this question, folks may send you at first to places like GetAFreelancer.com or Guru.com where you can hire freelancers to do whatever work you are requiring. These can be great places to find services at cheap prices, and is great for finding people to help with administrative tasks. Occasionally you can find good writers there as well, I am definitely not knocking them.

However, when you are looking for a writer you should be looking for someone who has built up a good reputation, and can show you examples of top quality work. You may not always find that on a lot of the freelance sites.

The best way to find a good ghostwriter is through word of mouth or referrals. You can bet that if you find a writer through word of mouth, it is because they have proven themselves and their clients are very happy, and spreading the word.

Check out forums, and see who people may be talking about or recommending. Message boards are good too. Just ask around and see who people point you to. If your shoved in the direction of a certain writer fairly regularly, it’s probably a good bet they are well qualified to write for you.

Found A Potential Ghostwriter – Now What?

So you have found a possible writer, and aren’t sure where to go next. The first thing you will want to do is contact them, obviously. Request a quote based on the project you are looking to have written. Also request samples from them. A good writer will always have samples of past work they can provide to you as proof of their quality.

However, be careful, some writers are unscrupulous and will send you bogus work as their samples, and then when actually asked to write your stuff, it comes back as crap! The best way to avoid this is to not only ask for samples already written, but also ask them to write a short sample article on the topic of your choice. Unless they are already an extremely well known writer whose work speaks for itself, they shouldn’t have a problem doing this for you.

Also check out their website. If they are serious about their work, then they will have a website up regarding their services. Check out the site, see if it has samples available, if it looks professional, and if they have a photo available introducing themselves.

If you decide you like this ghostwriter, and their style meshes well with what you are trying to accomplish, you will then want to draw up a simple ghostwriters agreement with them, just so you both have a record of the terms of agreement. That’s simply good business, so don’t be worried about asking them to do so. If they are unwilling find another writer!

How Much Is Too Much?

Once you have found your writer, and requested their quote, how much is too much? That can only be determined by you. Some folks will say that only expensive writers are quality writers, and all the cheap ones write in broken English. Others take the opposing stance and won’t pay for a writer that charges more than 6 bucks an article.

It all depends on you and what you are comfortable with. In my experience, expensive doesn’t always mean better, but neither do want to shell out money for a cheap writer who doesn’t deliver. Sometimes, when paying a higher price you may be paying not only for quality writing, but also for excellent customer service and timely work. Yes it’s nice to be able to cut costs and save some money, but hiring your ghostwriter may not be the ideal place to cut corners.

Consider the fact that perception plays a huge role in how people judge you or your product. It only makes sense to invest in a quality ghostwriter that is going to represent you or your product in the absolute best light possible.

To Recap…

Do your due diligence. Ask around, get referrals, find a writer with a great reputation. Request samples and quotes, as well as a ghost writer agreement. Don’t mistake expensive for better, but don’t think cheap is always going to cut it! And finally, go with your gut. If you don’t feel comfortable handing that person your money to complete a job for you, then don’t. Keep looking until you find a ghostwriter that is the perfect fit for YOU.

How To Make Money From Writing

Posted on January 10th, 2009 in Advice, Clickbank, EzineArticles, Offline, Really Simple Method, Reports, Simple, Strategies, Web Traffic | No Comments »

A lot of folks ask us how to make money from writing. It’s a great question, simply because writing is one of the core ways to make money online. Just about everything related to internet marketing or making money online includes having to write something of some sort, whether you’re writing or editing a report, writing sales copy, or even simply communicating with your customers.

Note: To download a step-by-step technique that shows you exactly how to make money from writing right away, download the report at the Simple Cash Blogright now. It’s 100% free.

Here’s a quick brainstorm of everything John and I can think of when we’re asked how to make money from writing…

1.) Hire yourself out to write articles. Post examples of your work on a website, then go to eLance, Guru.com, and others to look for jobs. You can also go to the Warrior Forum, and after participating there for about a week, you can post a “special offer” to the Warrior Special Offer forum offering up a discounted rate for writing articles.

2.) Write reports for people. Follow the same techniques in #1, but offer to write reports, instead. Keep in mind as your reputation improves you can begin charging more and more as you attract veteran marketers.

3.) Create a niche website. Use WordTracker’s Free Keyword Tool to find keywords and then write blog entries in Blogger. Write one per day, 300-400 words long, targeting one keyword per article. Use the exact keyword phrases 2 to 3 times in your article, once in the first sentence. Over time you will build a stream of traffic that you can monetize with Google Adsense, related Clickbank products, and more.

4.) You can edit and write new content for private label rights reports and either sell them or give them away via your website. If you give them away, you can easily plug in affiliate links for related products and make some money.

5.) Research and write your own reports. This is our top “how to make money from writing” technique, and one we apply ourselves frequently. First, go to a forum and find pressing questions that are popular and have a lot of replies. Then, find the solution to that problem (there are typically a lot of solutions in the thread of the question.) You can then research the solutions, put in your own solutions, and add your own twist. Write a sales letter, then market it.

6.) Create your own PLR packages. If you enjoy writing articles, creating a PLR article package and limiting the number of copies distributed (20 to 30 is typically acceptable) and selling them for $5 to $10 per package for 10 or more articles can give you some short term cash, especially if you repeat the process over and over.

7.) If going offline is preferred, you can always write your own book and then self-publish it with a site such as Lulu.com, then list your book on sites such as Amazon. You can do interviews with people in your niche to increase your book’s popularity.

Big Secret — Proper grammar is NOT a must to make money online. Neither John nor I claim to have perfect command of the English language, and sometimes we blatantly violate it’s rules. Occasionally we misspell things in our e-mails or in our sales copy, or use improper grammar or a very non-formal tone. In fact, many markets respond better to a non-formal tone. Think about it…

Wouldn’t you rather buy from a person, rather than a big corporation? Most people would. :-)

Keeping that in mind, there are some times when writing formal is necessary. For example, if you’re talking to professionals or writing about science-related topics, then writing formally is a must.

I hope this list of tips has gotten you thinking about the many different ways you can start making money online right now. How to Succeed in 2009

Posted on December 29th, 2008 in 10x, Advice, Affiliate Program, Free Business Model, Links, Really Simple Method, Simple, Strategies, Web Traffic | 4 Comments »

If you want to know how to succeed in 2009 then you’ve come to the right place. I’m going to give you a simple plan to follow. If you do a little work then you’ll be pulling down more cash than ever before.

First, I want you to know that you can succeed. Many people laugh when I tell them that can generate $1,000,000 in less than 5 years. In fact, you can do it in less than 4 years if you’re aggressive:

I wish that every online marketer would read that posting. You do not have to follow the plan I’ve outlined. But, you do need inspiration and faith. You need to understand it can be done with effort and just a little time. (5 years is just over 1,800 days. That’s easy.)

Second, you need to realize that business opportunities are all around you. Don’t be blind to business opportunities like so many other people.

If you’re reading this blog posting you’re probably already generating at least a few bucks online. If you are, what have you done about it? I strongly suggest that you make a couple of minor changes. You can succeed in 2009 simply by applying some focus.

I recommend you look into the 10x Method immediately if you are making any money online.

Quickly frankly, if you are pulling down cash right now, you’ve got a potential cash cow ready for milking. The 10x Method explains everything and it’s free. As “they” say it’s risk free.

Third, you need to form a solid plan that is going to work for you. I strongly urge you follow a business model. What I mean is that you need to avoid trying to exploit little tricks. You need to stop chasing fads and silly trends.

There are real BUSINESS models out there for you to follow. That’s how to grow and make real money online. You might need some inspiration. So, here are a few places you can start:

Those are just some ideas. You can set up a membership. You can exploit private label rights. You can do article marketing. You can become an affiliate. There is so much you can do.

But don’t get distracted because lack of focus will kill your chances at success. Focus is key. Having a plan with a solid business model is essential.

Stick With What Works

Posted on September 13th, 2008 in 10x, Advice, Customers, Free Business Model, Really Simple Method | No Comments »

Stick With What WorksWhy should you stick with what works? What does that even mean?

We spend a good chunk of time explaining the importance of focus in our (free) 20-minute 10x Method video. The reason for spending so much time on focus is that most people struggle to stick to one thing.

Most folks are looking for fast and easy money.

But the truth is that making money usually takes a lot of time. So, when you find something that actually works, you need to stick to it.

Remember, most people aren’t making any money online. And, they don’t stick to one method of generating income — even when that method clearly works. Once again, this is because most folks think they should be pulling down more cash. (Read between the lines: Greed!)

The irony is that when you stick to one way of making money — once you know it works — you can pull down even more money. This is because of these three reasons:

  1. It’s easier to retain customers (low cost)
  2. You get more efficient with your tasks
  3. You can leverage your products and skills

In a nutshell, it’s cheap to sell to existing customers compared to winning new customers. Furthermore, you get good at what you do. You might even become a guru, worth your weight in gold on some topic. And lastly, you can bundle products together if you stay focused in your domain. You can also sell updated versions of your product. They are easier to create than ones that are fresh and 100% new.

So, once you are done trying a million things, please be sure to settle down and focus. Again, I’ll recommend the 10x Method video because it not only explains the true value of focus but I also give you some concrete ideas on how to get started immediately. (Zero cost, zero risk.)
