Online and Offline Marketing (Part 1)

Posted on June 3rd, 2008 in Advice, Customers, Offline, Reports, Strategies | 1 Comment »

In this blog entry I’ll explain the four dimensions of online and offline marketing. Simply put, here are the options you have:

  1. You can use online tools to sell online
  2. You can use online tools to sell offline
  3. You can use offline tools to sell offline
  4. You can use off-line tools to sell online

There’s essentially a matrix here, where one dimension is how you sell and the other dimension is where you sell. To make this easy to understand here are the four quadrants spelled out with some examples.

Quadrant 1: Internet marketers and online marketers typically think of using online tools to sell online. For example, an internet marketer might use YouTube to drive traffic to an information product sales page. So, in this case, you’re selling online and your buyers are online.

Quadrant 2: The second quadrant of online and offline marketing is to use online tools to sell goods offline. For example, an online marketer might use a blog to drive traffic to an information page which includes contact information and directions to a store offline. This is using the web to drive business in “meatspace” or the real world.

Quadrant 3: The third quadrant of online and offline marketing is what many people would call traditional marketing. Simply put, that would be using offline sales methods to drive offline sales. A simple example would be to place an ad in a newspaper (e.g., coupon) to get people to buy something in a store in the real world. “Get $2.00 off of brand XYZ dog food!”

Quadrant 4: The final dimension is the one few people talk about. It’s quite possible to use offline marketing to drive sales online. Many internet marketers haven’t yet figured this out. Here’s an example to make a concrete. You could use a local newspaper, many of which are free or low-cost, to drive people to buy something online such as an information product or how-to manual. This is quite lucrative if you have the skills.

Important: If you’re interested in learning more about using your internet marketing skills to make money in the “real world” then I strongly encourage you to learn more about the Offline Cash Formula. See how you can make 5-10 times the amount of money offline that you’re making onle for the same effort. (Actually, to be honest, it usually requires less effort. Find out why.)

Affiliate Marketing Business Model

Posted on April 7th, 2008 in Affiliate Program, Clickbank, Customers, Free Business Model, News, Reports, Simple Cash Blog, Videos | No Comments »

Just a few months ago we opened up a new affiliate program for the Simple Cash Blog. What we did was really quite simple, but very few people are using the tactic I’m going to describe. Pay attention if you are setting up your own affiliate program or if you do affiliate marketing because this system works.

First, we set up a very powerful membership site. In this case, I’m talking about the Simple Cash Blog. If you look at the sales page, you’ll see how much value we offer for a very fair price. This is a membership which currently includes over 25 high quality downloads, nearly 70 long blog postings, and a forum to support it all. There are nearly 1,000 postings in the forum and hundreds of members. My point is that the membership is high quality. You know, something you can feel good about promoting.

Second, we set entirely different domain as a front end specifically for affiliates. We set up the Free Business Model web site which includes two videos that talk about autoresponder membership sites. This is 100% free content. The first video is absolutely free and available to anyone to view.

I’m going to pause for a moment here. You’re probably wondering why we set up a web site with free videos. Specifically, you’re wondering how these free videos would benefit affiliates. These are good questions and the answers below will show you why our affiliates are making a killing.

The third thing we did was set up a new folder specifically for Clickbank. That is, we set up a special sales page specially for selling via Clickbank versus PayPal or other methods. Here’s the Simple Cash Blog Clickbank sales page. If you look at that page, you’ll notice zero differences between that page and the regular page except you can only order via Clickbank. So, to make sure this is clear — we set up a basic affiliate program through Clickbank and dedicated a page to it.

The fourth thing we did was used DLGuard and HopGuard to set up secure affiliate links for our affiliates. I can’t show you the special Simple Cash Blog affiliate system, but I can point you to our IMsimple.com affiliates page. As you can see on that page, all you do is drop in your Clickbank ID and you’re all set to start selling Rhodes Brothers products. Now, imagine that but instead, all you do is point to a free video.

That’s the secret. Let me explain that last part, because it’s probably not totally clear…

We point our affiliates to an affiliate sign up page. On that page (like the IMsimple.com affiliates page I just mentioned), an affiliate would simply drop in their Clickbank affiliate ID. We then autogenerate a special, secure affiliate link tied to Clickbank. The special URL we generate for affiliates looks like this:

http://imsimple.com/hg/?a=qUhiBMhT&p=23

If you click on that link above, you’ll go to FreeBusinessModel.com and you’ll be tagged. That means you’ll have a cookie set. You’ll get to watch a high quality video for free as I described above.

Unfortunately, I’m going to leave you with a cliffhanger..

There’s more I could say at this point but I have to keep a couple of secrets. The rest of the story is inside the Simple Cash Blog members area. I explain this entire model to members, plus they have easy access to our special affiliate program.

Now, get a load of this. We’re launching a completely new product that is going to be huge. We’re going to use exactly the same model I described above but more. We’re giving our affiliates even more tools, more opportunities, and 1-to-1 help.

We’re going to be giving you a $30 commission. It’s a 70% commission on a high quality $47 product that you’ll feel really good about promoting. You can act quickly to hit your list before we do, and before your competitors do. We love affiliates — seriously, we know how important you are. That’s why we’re forking over $30 for each sale.

I can’t give away more about the product. Well, maybe a little more…

Hint: The product is all about private label rights (PLR). We explain exactly how to “exploit PLR” — customers will see how to turn their PLR into cash. We’re going to explain how it is done, step-by-step.

We’re going to give affiliates a chance to make a killing by simply giving away a free high quality video. I encourage you to join the Simple Cash Blog to really get all the information. But, if you want to just be an affiliate, contact us.

~ John S. Rhodes of “The Rhodes Brothers”

p.s. I strongly encourage you to follow what’s going on at the PLRmodel.com blog.  There is a ton of absolutely free content about PLR on that blog. It’s the place to learn more about PLR right now, and it’s part of the secret product launch of our PLR product. Not many people know about it… (Hint: Smart affiliates will watch that blog!)

High Quality Niche Research for Dirt Cheap

Posted on January 15th, 2008 in News, Reports, Strategies | 1 Comment »

I’m going to tell you a secret…

We pay people a lot of money to do research for us. This might not seem like a secret, but it is.

When it comes to internet marketing, knowledge is power. Knowledge is wealth. And, we pay for it when we see it.

I’m going to talk about making money through research in just a little while. First, I want to talk to you about Steven Wagenheim. Trust me, this is something you want to know.

About one year ago, Steven was showing up on a couple of popular internet marketing forums. He spent a lot of time over at the Warrior Forum and I quickly took notice.

Steven’s constantly writing. And, what he writes is really good.

He also makes over $100K per year online based on what I’ve read. He has provided evidence of his earnings too in video format. More on that in just a minute.

As I was saying, Steven is a writer. If you know any good writers, you know they are almost always good researchers. Steven’s no exception. He knows how to figure stuff out — that’s why his writing is so good.

Editor’s Note: Steven Wagenheim and I put together How to Re-Write a PLR in 7 Minutes. It’s *the* report on PLR re-writing and it’s a clear indication of the quality of his work.

So, I know first hand that Steven is a good writer … but also a great researcher.

Now we can talk about how you can make money. I need to now explain how research means money in your PayPal account. If you don’t understand that, you won’t understand what Steven Wagenheim is giving away for next to nothing.

Like I said, The Rhodes Brothers outsource a lot of our research. We use the research (e.g., niche research, keyword research, article research, membership competition, forum scanning, and more) to build our empire. We use it to make money.

How?

The answer is simple. We use it to (1) dominate a niche by finding out what people really want and need and (2) we sell the research to our customers and membership subscribers.

We often pay $50-$100 but then turn around and sell it for $300-$500. Yes, we do have several memberships (e.g., The Simple Cash Blog and the Simple PLR Club) and we have several lists. So, we can help a lot of people and we make money at the same time.

However…

We know several people who take research and “flip” it in the way I described. Unfortunately, most niche research is expensive. It can cost $100-$200 just to research one niche. Often , it takes more if the niche is challenging.

(I’ve never seen niche research less than $10. It’s possible, I guess, but the quality if probably terrible.)

OK, now let’s talk about Steven Wagenheim again. And, let’s talk about niche research.

Do you know where this is going? I hope you’re guessing right now.

I found out that Steven is offering up niche research on (holy cow!) 30 different, high value niches. When I first heard about this, I kind of laughed. You see, when it comes to niche research, the price is too high for most people.

I expected that Steven was going to be offering up niche research for maybe 4-5 niches. Or, I thought he’d keep the price really high to cover his expenses. (Remember, ONE niche can cost up to $200 or more to research. It takes time to dig into a niche.)

With hesitation, I visited the Niche Revolution Research web site.

My eyes popped out. “You’ve got to be *kidding* me, Steven!” — I said that out loud. You’ll understand why. (The price.)

I can’t give away the price. I just can’t.

Consider that you’re getting 30 niches from a Top Gun Researcher. (I’d hire him for at least $50 per hour, and that would be a complete steal for his time.)

I want to show you some math. 30 niches x $200 per niche = $6,000

If you think that is “a lot of money” you’re right. But, consider that with 30 niches, you would be busy for at least 6 months setting up niche web sites that would blow away the competition.

Remember, niche research helps you utterly dominate the search engines. All you have to do is apply what you’ve learned. Niche research is gold for blogs, mini-hubs, authority sites, memberships, and sales pages.

Remember, Steven makes over $100,000 per year. He’s doing it through his superior knowledge of niches, that’s for sure.

You must visit Niche Research Revolution

There’s even more to the story that I’m not telling you.

Hint: The niches are outstanding. (That’s means serious cash online … from these special niches.)

Marketing Sherpa Landing Page Handbook

Posted on December 16th, 2007 in Advice, General, Reports | No Comments »

The Rhodes Brothers typically don’t review products that other people develop. We are generally pretty quiet about what we buy and use. Quite frankly, most products and services we obtain just aren’t that good. And, we don’t like to play dirty.

Well, today I want to tell you about The Landing Page Handbook which is published by Marketing Sherpa. Give me just a few minutes to tell you about it. I promise it’ll be worth your time.

The Landing Page Handbook is about 270 pages long. It is actually a second edition, which I really like. They’ve updated and revised many points based on new data, analyses and feedback. 2nd editions are generally mature and refined.

Now, let me get this out of the way. If you’re interesting in landing pages there is no better resource available for sale. Oh sure, I’ve read several ebooks and reports, and I’ve even sold 1-2 myself. But, they are narrow and lack serious data. They simply don’t have the firepower of Marketing Sherpa’s Landing Page Handbook. If you’re looking for my recommendation and the summary, that’s it.

If you want to know why I think the Landing Page Handbook is so good, please keep reading. I’m going to give away a few secrets. It’s the only way to make it clear that this book is worth grabbing.

For starters, the handbook gives you explicit data on conversion rates. How many times have you tried to figure out if you’re below average, average, or above average? Unless you have a baseline how can you improve your tests? I tell you, this is invaluable data, that you get in the first 20 pages or so.

The Landing Page Handbook also provides a very clear review of the stages of the conversion process, as a person moves through one step after another or not. You’ll get outstanding advice on landing page design. I was surprised at how well the handbook translates the data into real recommendations for design improvements. The Rhodes Brothers have already made several updates as a result.

Every little nuance of a landing page is explored. Different types of landing pages are explained and compared to each other. Numerous examples are given to make it clear how you should think about your pages. There are even lists of design mistakes to reference if you’re in a rush.

I’ve left out the price until now, but it’s time to throw it your way. The Landing Page Handbook costs $497. Yes, that’s right, it’s $497. But, I want to talk about the price for a minute.

If you are on a shoestring budget or you’re a small time entrepreneur, then this probably isn’t the right investment for you. But look, if you are a small or medium business with a marketing or R&D budget, this should be on your shelf. You simply will not get better landing page advice. Grab it if you can afford it.

Here are some secrets…

1. Most landing page updates won’t cost you a dime. You’ll mostly just need to tweak your design to get the results you want. You’ve got to love that.

2. Total average conversion rates are about 3.84% but remember, they vary quite a bit based on modality (e.g., list email vs. search engine PPC traffic). Now at least you have a starting point.

3. People do bail from opt-in pages for verious reasons which you might not realize: too many fields to fill in, poor wording of your heading, too much body copy or too little, amatuerish design.

4. If you’re wondering where to spend your money and time, consider email and your lists. Search and test links don’t seem to perform quite as well, but of course, the niche you’re in will matter.

5. Trust me when I say that the Marketing Sherpa Landing Page Handbook makes it clear that aligning your landing page with your specific campaign matters. For example, if potential customers are search for “heated pet bowl” and they come to your site, you really better have “heated pet bowl” on that page. In fact, the page should be all about that topic.

I’m not joking when I say that The Landing Page Handbook is absolutely full of this kind of advice. It’s a real treasure.

Want to Sell Your eBook?

Posted on November 6th, 2007 in Advice, Affiliate Program, Clickbank, PLR Club, Really Simple Method, Reports, Simple, Strategies, Web Traffic | No Comments »

When you create an ebook, you want to know where to sell it. This blog entry will tell you exactly how to start selling today.

Two simple answers are that you can sell your product through Clickbank or PayPal. In the case of Clickbank, just visit, sign up, and follow the instructions. If you want to sell your ebook and get a (potentially huge) army of affiliates, this is a good option.

Sidebar: See how it works. Look at The Rhodes Brothers affiliate page to see the “other side” of the Clickbank equation. You could have something just like this to sell your ebook…

In the case of PayPal to sell your ebook, just create an account and then create Buy Now buttons. We make that very clear inside the Really Simple Method.  There’s a free video you can watch that shows you exactly what you need to do.

So, Clickbank and PayPal are effective but honestly, there are many other great places to sell your digital goods. If you’re a serious internet marketer then you need to learn all the places you can sell your ebook or report.

There are many market places you should learn about right now. Furthermore, even if you use Clickbank or PayPal, you need to know how to drive traffic.

You might also need to set up a web site. That means that you’ll want to think about domain names and hosting solutions (we love Bluehost).

Selling an ebook isn’t just about creating a great product, you need an infrastructure in place. You need to be prepared to drive traffic, get people signed up to your mailing list, and so on.

Let’s turn this into some really simple steps. If you want to sell your ebook, you should consider all of these steps. Don’t worry too much about following the exact order:

1. Find a thirsty market, with people willing to spend some money

2. Do some keyword research and find the right niche, or subniche

3. Create a product, or write an ebook to sell (re-write some PLR if you’re stuck)

4. Set up a web site so you can sell, use PayPal or Clickbank

5. Drive traffic to your sales page, enjoy the sales

Now, it really isn’t quite this simple but that is a very basic and effective recipe. There are also many other places to sell your ebook. Before long, you’ll want to start selling all over the place. With the right knowledge, that won’t be a problem. Your empire will grow.

By the way, if you need PLR, take a look at the Simple PLR Club. You can’t go wrong. You get 3 products each month and also a sales page for each product. It’s easy.
