PLR stands for private label rights. (Read this quick intro to PLR.)

In this blog entry I’ll talk to you about PLR so that you fully understand it, from many angles. I’ll do this by pointing you to some resources available online that are easy to read and understand.

A friend of mine (Steven Wagenheim) has written extensively about PLR in the last few weeks and he knows what he’s talking about. I think you will enjoy many of the things that he says. He blows the doors wide open.

One of the first things about PLR, is that it can be used to create websites very rapidly. The reason isn’t because the writing has been done for you, it’s because the research has been done for you. It’s this research that really saves you time, not the writing. This research is the gold.

On another topic, if you just take PLR and put it into a blog or website, Google will penalize you. You’ll never make it into their index or you’ll be buried in the supplemental results. So you can’t just take PLR and use it without some rewriting.

But remember, it’s not the writing or the content that saves you time. You do indeed have to re-write. The timesaver, is that the research for the topic you care about is done. Research takes a ton of time. Hours and hours. With PLR, someone else has done that for you. And, PLR is often very affordable. Rock on!

Keep this in mind too: if someone has done the research for you, you are pretty much an instant expert once you read the material. The niche can be very new, but you don’t need to know the topic very well in order to benefit from what you have read. The truth is rewriting good PLR is how you can rapidly make money online.

By the way, rewriting PLR is quite simple once you know the simple techniques. Yes, there are methods you can use to dramatically reduce the amount of time it takes to rewrite POR. Methods in fact, that make it so that you can rewrite a PLR article in less than seven minutes. It’s true.

The ability to rewrite PLR in less than seven minutes depends on the quality of the PLR. So, it’s not possible to rewrite a junk article in less than seven minutes. However if you purchase rock solid PLR to begin with, you’ll be golden. Re-writing PLR in very little time is easy.

Just a few months ago we opened up a new affiliate program for the Simple Cash Blog. What we did was really quite simple, but very few people are using the tactic I’m going to describe. Pay attention if you are setting up your own affiliate program or if you do affiliate marketing because this system works.

First, we set up a very powerful membership site. In this case, I’m talking about the Simple Cash Blog. If you look at the sales page, you’ll see how much value we offer for a very fair price. This is a membership which currently includes over 25 high quality downloads, nearly 70 long blog postings, and a forum to support it all. There are nearly 1,000 postings in the forum and hundreds of members. My point is that the membership is high quality. You know, something you can feel good about promoting.

Second, we set entirely different domain as a front end specifically for affiliates. We set up the Free Business Model web site which includes two videos that talk about autoresponder membership sites. This is 100% free content. The first video is absolutely free and available to anyone to view.

I’m going to pause for a moment here. You’re probably wondering why we set up a web site with free videos. Specifically, you’re wondering how these free videos would benefit affiliates. These are good questions and the answers below will show you why our affiliates are making a killing.

The third thing we did was set up a new folder specifically for Clickbank. That is, we set up a special sales page specially for selling via Clickbank versus PayPal or other methods. Here’s the Simple Cash Blog Clickbank sales page. If you look at that page, you’ll notice zero differences between that page and the regular page except you can only order via Clickbank. So, to make sure this is clear — we set up a basic affiliate program through Clickbank and dedicated a page to it.

The fourth thing we did was used DLGuard and HopGuard to set up secure affiliate links for our affiliates. I can’t show you the special Simple Cash Blog affiliate system, but I can point you to our IMsimple.com affiliates page. As you can see on that page, all you do is drop in your Clickbank ID and you’re all set to start selling Rhodes Brothers products. Now, imagine that but instead, all you do is point to a free video.

That’s the secret. Let me explain that last part, because it’s probably not totally clear…

We point our affiliates to an affiliate sign up page. On that page (like the IMsimple.com affiliates page I just mentioned), an affiliate would simply drop in their Clickbank affiliate ID. We then autogenerate a special, secure affiliate link tied to Clickbank. The special URL we generate for affiliates looks like this:

http://imsimple.com/hg/?a=qUhiBMhT&p=23

If you click on that link above, you’ll go to FreeBusinessModel.com and you’ll be tagged. That means you’ll have a cookie set. You’ll get to watch a high quality video for free as I described above.

Unfortunately, I’m going to leave you with a cliffhanger..

I got this question the other day from one of the many folks who watched our Free Business Model videos…It’s a question that we’ve been asked a few times:

“…why would anybody pay for [information] when they can get the same thing for free on almost any other site in their chosen niche?”

Here’s a harsh truth…

There’s hardly ever any real “secrets” out there. I’d say that the information in almost every single report or product out there is available for free on the internet. It’s that simple.

This includes many internet marketing products, too. How many times have you purchased a report and found out that the report was about a small twist to an old idea?

Here’s a personal example…

A few days ago I read a pretty good report about Google AdWords. Basically, there was a technique in the report that revealed how to get higher clickthrough rates. Could I have found the technique online had I searched for it?

You bet. But I was still happy with my purchase. Why? Several reasons…

First, the marketing for it was great – it actually made me feel good about my purchase. He told me it was a trick that very few people know – and it’s true. Note that he didn’t say no one knew about it – he said few people did. You know why he said that, right?

You got it – because it’s a “secret” that was available for free had I searched for it. But that leads us to another reason I purchased…

The “mystery” factor. It would have been hard to search for tips and tricks on Google Adwords, since I didn’t know specficially what to look for.

I would have eventually found the tip he was selling, I’m sure, but I wouldn’t have known if the tips I found were actually the “magical tip” that this person was selling. Curiousity would’ve gotten the best of me eventually.

Of course, since I purchased the report I also saved myself a lot of time from searching for the information as well.

So…here’s the point of this story:

Yes, people *will* pay for information that’s available for free on the internet.

You are making it easier to access.
You are saving them time.
You are making them “curious” about it with your marketing.
You are entertaining them.
You are making them excited about the idea.
You are finding twists to old/common ideas.
You are finding tips and turning them into “secrets.”

I hope that helps clarify why you can penetrate literally *any* niche you want…
